FTW slet

2009-01-12 11:09 p.m.

I am so glad that I actually sat down and watched the Golden Globes tonight. I never really cared about awards shows besides the years of LotR mania. When I do get into it though, I REALLY get into it. I remember the night that RotK swept all the awards that it was nominated for, and I baked eleventy-one cupcakes. I wish I had my ESOTSM dvds with me right now so that I could overdose on Kate tonight.

God, I am so happy for her. I don't know her personally at all, and I never really believed in getting invested in celebrities- except for fake/wannabe ones i.e. the Morning Benders. There's just no denying that Kate Winslet is an exceptional woman.

I haven't seen "Revolutionary Road" yet, nor "The Reader", so I can't say whether or not she deserved the awards for her performances in those two movies. But goodness knows some sort of recognition has been long-coming. I'm not too optimistic about her chances for an Oscar still. But good on her for tonight!

I assure you I'm not biased when I sa that her speech was the standout of the night. It was so fucking genuine. All of the Titanic fans who have been waiting a decade probably died when Kate confessed her love to Leo. To me, it was a bit weird, and I hoped that she either toned it down or lavished as much on her husband.

I love how breathless she was!

You had me at Clementine Krucynski, baby.
